They beat so hard within my chest
These butterflies that never rest
With one strong breath I set them free
To carry on my memory.
Crooked flyers, petal dancers
The butterflies are second chances
Alighting gently, colors bold
On every flower my story told
Each time another witness sees
A butterfly soaring in the breeze
Or reverently  perched upon a fence
You’ll know it’s me without pretense
For my strength and beauty lie
In wings of gold and tiger-eye
Full of purpose and majesty
And every single memory.
